Committing to the Process

In this new age of viral videos and instant gratification, it's common to get stuck chasing that big moment. Nowadays, if you aren't raking in millions of likes per video it’s easy to see the work you’re doing now as a failure. But that couldn’t be further from the truth. When a video blows up those views don’t last, those likes dwindle away, and you don’t instantly become a superstar. Unless you have the hard work and time put in behind the scenes before that video blew up. And even then, thousands of people go viral daily that aren’t around the next week. So how about you take a different approach? Instead of seeking out viral videos and relying on algorithms to reach an audience, try committing to the process. The great thing about everyone seeking instant fame and a viral video, is that you have a distinct advantage if you just put in the work. Truly dedicate yourself to your craft, master your skills, and start putting in the work. At first, you may not see results, but as long as you don’t quit, you haven’t failed. With each loss along the way you learn something and get better at your craft. Start collecting emails, documenting your process, and sharing every bit of it. As cliche as it sounds its about the journey not the destination. The people that you want in your corner want to see that journey. Build a community that can grow with you, that can watch you mess up, and that will know the whole story once you reach the top. I’m still in the process of doing this myself, but that process is the fun part and the part you will remember once you get where you’re going.
